The Haven is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Thrift Store Sales Associate to support the daily operations of our thrift shop. This role plays a vital part in sustaining The Haven’s mission by generating revenue to support survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence, while providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Customer Service: Provide exceptional service, process cash/credit transactions accurately, and ensure daily reconciliation and reporting.
- Store Operations: Receive, sort, and display donations; maintain a clean, safe, and organized store; complete opening and closing duties.
- Volunteer & Team Collaboration: Support and work alongside volunteers, fostering a positive and productive environment.
- Inventory & Asset Protection: Organize merchandise, safeguard assets, and follow procedures for donation and inventory management.
- Confidentiality & Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality regarding customers using vouchers or disclosing histories with The Haven.
- Other Duties: Perform tasks as assigned by the Thrift Shop Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Retail and/or thrift store sales experience with strong customer service skills.
- Effective interaction with staff and volunteers.
- Self-motivated, creative, resourceful, organized, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence.
- Proficient in cash/credit handling and reconciliation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities including standing, walking, and bending.
- Commitment to The Haven’s mission and confidentiality standards.

Pay: From $13.75 per hour
