A well-established, mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the organization's financial management and reporting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, community-focused environment with outstanding work-life balance and long-term growth potential. This position is onsite (5 Days/Week).
Salary: $95,000–$115,000 base salary

Controller Key Responsibilities

Oversee general accounting operations and monthly close process
-
Prepare and review account reconciliations

Assist with financial reporting and financial statement preparation

Participate in budgeting and department budget reviews

Manage grant and restricted fund accounting

Work closely with leadership on financial planning and analysis

Supervise two accounting team members

Support process improvements and accounting system enhancements

Collaborate cross-functionally with departments across the organization
Controller Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of progressive accounting experience

Nonprofit and/or education industry experience strongly preferred

Supervisory experience preferred

Experience with grants, restricted funds, or endowments is a plus

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Process improvement and automation experience highly desirable

Exposure to Blackbaud, Veracross, or similar platforms is a plus
