Love and Make, a DIY studio in the Rice Village area in Houston is seeking a Creative Instructor Assistant/Lead Instructor to join our team. If you love to teach, entertain, meet new people and socialize this may be the position for you. No experience is required, we will train you. We offer candle, perfume, reed diffuser, bath bomb and soap making workshops for both adults and children 8+. We offer public, private and corporate events in our studio. We also offer mobile parties and virtual workshops. OPEN AVAILABILITY IS A MUST.
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience: Customer Service- 1 year preferred
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Creative Instructor is an entry-level, customer-facing role responsible for delivering engaging, safe, and memorable DIY workshop experiences at Love & Make. Creative Instructors focus on executing workshops, supporting guests, and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment in alignment with Love & Make’s standards and values.
This role is execution-focused and operates under the direction of Lead Instructors, Assistant Store Managers, and Store Managers. No prior teaching experience is required—training is provided. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, learning new skills, and being part of a creative, fast-paced environment.

Schedule Expectations

- Typical shifts: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Workshop Execution & Guest Experience
- Greet, check in, and assist guests throughout their workshop experience
- Set up, facilitate, and clean up workshops according to established procedures
- Guide guests through DIY processes, including scent selection and product creation
- Maintain an engaging, upbeat, and supportive presence during sessions
- Ensure guest safety and adherence to workshop guidelines
Operational Support
- Follow all opening, closing, and workshop procedures as trained
- Prepare materials, supplies, and workstations for workshops and events
- Assist with inventory organization, restocking, and supply management
- Support mobile, private, corporate, and virtual workshops as scheduled
Brand & Team Support
- Serve as a positive ambassador of the Love & Make brand and vendor partners
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members
- Escalate customer issues, safety concerns, or operational questions to a Lead Instructor or Manager
- Maintain a positive attitude and team-first mindset
Additional Support Tasks
- Assist with packing and shipping online orders as needed
- Respond to basic customer questions in person and via email when assigned
- Support social media and digital engagement when directed
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Comfortable speaking to small and large groups
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Able to work with children (8+) and adults
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to mobile events
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Customer service experience preferred but not required
GROWTH PATH
Creative Instructors who demonstrate reliability, leadership, and mastery of workshop execution may be considered for promotion to Lead Instructor.
