Patient Care
- Provides high-quality direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assists with activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, glucose monitoring, and other delegated patient care activities.
- Accurately documents patient information according to hospital policy.
- Communicates changes in patient condition promptly to the nursing team.
Clinical Analytics & Data Management
- Develops, maintains, and updates Excel dashboards, reports, and data trackers.
- Performs data collection, validation, and trend analysis for nursing quality indicators.
- Creates pivot tables, charts, formulas, conditional formatting, and automated reports.
- Assists leadership with monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- Falls
- Pressure injuries
- Patient satisfaction
- Staffing productivity
- Overtime utilization
- Patient throughput
- Quality and safety metrics
- Identifies trends and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Supports preparation of reports for nursing leadership meetings, quality committees, and regulatory surveys.
Operational Support
- Assists with scheduling reports, staffing analysis, and productivity monitoring.
- Supports process improvement initiatives using Lean, PDSA, or A3 methodologies.
- Maintains confidential databases and ensures data accuracy.
- Collaborates with nursing leadership, quality, infection prevention, finance, and clinical departments on performance improvement projects.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of patient care experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- INDEX/MATCH
- Charts and graphs
- Data validation
- Conditional formatting
- Dashboard development
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics and regulatory standards.
- Experience supporting nursing leadership or quality improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Lean Healthcare, Six Sigma, or performance improvement methodologies.
