Medical Office Receptionist
This position will greet patients and visitors in person or by telephone and address all patient/visitor inquiries. The specialist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting guests and manage the day-to-day operations of the front desk with constant interactions with clinical staff to keep the clinic running smoothly.
Duties:
- Greets patients and visitors in person or by telephone. Address all patient/visitor inquiries.
- Manage the day to day operations of the front desk with constant interactions with clinical staff to keep clinic running smoothly.
- Completes all appointment scheduling for patients.
- Reviews the clinical staff appointments on a daily basis and schedules appointments as requested by clinical staff or physician orders.
- Reschedules cancellations and no-show appointments.
- Schedules follow up appointments for all visits.
- Files and retrieves all patient records.
- Enter all inquiry phone calls into the electronic health record and ensure call information is accurate and up to date.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information collects patient co-pays and deductibles and post payments in the practice management system.
- Compares sign in sheets to recorded services daily to ensure that all provided services have been recorded.
- Processes external referrals by entering the referral into the EHR and making appointments with external providers.
- Maintains confidentially of personal and financial information.
- Maintains clinic operations by following policies & procedures and reports needed changes.
- Keep primary care clinic front office/waiting area neat and tidy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Medical Assistant
In this position you will work as an integral part of our team, responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Triaging patient, including vital signs
- Routinely assists provider with patient exams, prepares exam rooms for specific procedures.
- Preparation of patient charts, etc. prior to patient visit
- Taking patient x-rays
- Fitting, patient education, and assisting in dispensing of Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
- Consenting and educating patients on procedures and durable medical equipment
- Maintains exam rooms by cleaning and stocking rooms as necessary, preparing non-disposable instruments for sterilization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant CMA or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant CCMA (preferred)
- Past medical assistant experience and/or use of EMR systems (preferred)
- Bilingual or multilingual (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
- Oral and written communication skills required in dealing with patients, co-workers, and public
- Basic computer skills, understanding a windows environment required or must be willing to learn PC competencies as required for the position

- Customer service oriented, responding promptly to patient’s needs
- Detail oriented
- Ability to provide verbal feedback in a professional manner
- Ability to read and understand instructions and react favorably in all work situations
