Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety at a facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in various cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of our premises through efficient cleaning, custodial duties, and minor maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Maintain restrooms by sanitizing fixtures, replenishing supplies, and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all areas are kept organized and free of hazards to promote safety for all building occupants.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures during all custodial activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles, with knowledge of commercial cleaning, industrial cleaning, or facilities maintenance preferred.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Prior porter or maintenance experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Reliable work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Hours are Monday-Friday, 4:30pm-8:30pm. Start time is flexible.
