John & Molly’s Tavern is looking for a reliable, fast-paced, and team-oriented Food Runner/Expo to join our front-of-house team. This position plays an important role in making sure food leaves the kitchen accurately, quickly, and with great presentation.
The Food Runner/Expo is responsible for organizing food orders, checking plates for accuracy, communicating with servers and kitchen staff, and delivering food to guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Run food from the kitchen to guests in a timely and professional manner
- Help organize and coordinate food orders at the expo line
- Check plates for accuracy, presentation, modifiers, sauces, sides, and garnishes before they leave the kitchen
- Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen staff
- Assist with keeping the expo area clean, organized, and stocked
- Help ensure guests receive the correct food in a timely manner
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist servers and bussers when needed, including pre-bussing, refilling waters, and helping maintain the dining room
- Work with a sense of urgency during busy shifts
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance
Requirements
- Restaurant experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to stay organized under pressure
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to carry trays/plates and lift moderate weight
- Evening and weekend availability preferred
- Team-first attitude is a must

Schedule
Part-time and full-time positions available. Evening and weekend availability is preferred.
Compensation
Hourly pay plus tip-out, based on experience.
