Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to join our healthcare technology maintenance team. The BMET will be responsible for the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of biomedical equipment used in clinical settings. This role is essential in ensuring that medical devices operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in biomedical electronics, mechanical systems, and electro-mechanical components, along with excellent customer service skills to support healthcare professionals and enhance patient safety.
Responsibilities
- The Biomedical Equipment Technician performs troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on complex biomedical and laboratory equipment to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable operation.
- This role requires technical expertise in electronics, electro‑mechanical systems, and IT/cybersecurity awareness, while ensuring compliance with hospital regulatory standards and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair of sophisticated biomedical equipment (ventilators, infusion devices, surgical tables, patient monitoring systems, etc.).
- Diagnostics: Conduct high‑level electronic troubleshooting, interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic flow charts to component level.
- Acceptance Inspection: Inspect new biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Apply knowledge of Title 22, TJC, AAMI, NFPA, and other hospital/clinic codes and standards.
- Documentation: Complete purchase orders, inspection records, equipment evaluations, and update computerized equipment databases.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous quality improvement projects and recommend equipment replacement or upgrades.
- Inventory Management: Verify equipment inventory locations, tag equipment with barcodes, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaboration: Provide technical guidance to other technicians, communicate with vendors, and support team roles as needed.
- Professional Judgment: Assess repair priorities in simultaneous equipment failures, ensuring patient safety in expedient situations.
- Research & Evaluation: Prepare equipment for evaluation studies, review manufacturer maintenance procedures, and implement changes.
MUST HAVE:
- Must have Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Must have experience troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and performing preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
- Experience servicing ventilators, infusion pumps, patient monitors, ultrasound systems, surgical tables, laboratory equipment, or similar medical devices
- Must be able to interpret wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, and perform electronic troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of AAMI, TJC (Joint Commission), NFPA, or Title 22 standards is highly preferred.
- Experience performing equipment acceptance inspections, calibration, preventive maintenance, and documentation.
- CBET certification or OEM manufacturer training is a strong advantage.
Shift Timing: 7AM-3:30PM
Weekly schedule: M-F

Pay: $60.00 - $62.00 per hour
