American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hospital-wide Float Pool (Nursing Resource Team) position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience across ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health settings.

Hospital-wide float pool position serving the ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health (Adult Acute, Youth Acute, and Addiction Recovery) service lines

Unit bed counts range from 21–35 beds depending on the assigned unit
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: ICU 1:1–2, PCU 1:3–4, Med/Surg and ED-boarded Med/Surg 1:5–6, and Behavioral Health 1:5–6 days / 1:10 overnights

12-hour shifts available on both days (0700–1930) and nights (1900–0730); schedule is based on unit needs
-
Every other weekend required

Float assignments are determined prior to shift start; mid-shift floating may also occur as needed

Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation is required

Active RN license — Idaho or Compact state license required

Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Minimum of 3 years of experience in all of the following areas (experience may be concurrent): ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health/Psych (adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery)

Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; BSN highly preferred

Experience with cardiac drips required

Experience with non-invasive ventilation required

Department of Health & Welfare Background Fingerprinting required due to Behavioral Health float responsibilities

2 professional references required for consideration: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care across a wide variety of patient populations and care settings

Must demonstrate strong time management, adaptability, and the ability to integrate quickly into diverse unit teams
-
Orientation includes Restraint-C, MOAB 8-hour class (KBH/YA), Boundaries 1-hour module, lift training, and KBH/YA Restraint Board training — all covered during general onboarding

Navy blue scrubs required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
