Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote dignity and comfort.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, observe changes in health status, and accurately document findings to ensure optimal care.
- Support medication reminders following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to maintain safety and compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed, ensuring proper nutrition.
- Engage in patient observation to detect early signs of health issues like dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders, providing timely interventions.
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through regular cleaning routines, supporting a healthy environment.
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community outings, fostering social engagement and independence.
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid procedures, and HIPAA regulations to protect residents’ health and privacy.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Skilled in patient transfer methods; CPR and first aid certification are required.
- Experience working with Dementia or Alzheimer's clients is advantageous.
- STRONG communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary settings.
- Safely assist residents with mobility or transfers.
- Familiarity with care plans, medication protocols, Geriatrics principles, hospice care practices, and social work concepts is beneficial.
- A compassionate attitude combined with physical stamina to support residents over long shifts ensures success in this rewarding role.
