Position Summary
The Sheet Metal Roofer is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining architectural and roofing-related sheet metal systems on commercial and industrial buildings. This position works with a variety of materials including galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty metals to create and install roofing components that protect buildings from the elements.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, dependable, and takes pride in producing high-quality craftsmanship.
What You'll Do
- Install sheet metal roofing components and systems
- Install edge metal, coping caps, flashings, gutters, downspouts, scuppers, and custom architectural sheet metal
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools and fabrication equipment
- Read blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications
- Perform roof-related waterproofing and flashing work
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment
- Work effectively with foremen, project managers, and fellow crew members
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with company standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
Qualifications
Preferred
- Experience in commercial roofing or architectural sheet metal installation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Knowledge of roofing systems and flashing details
- Experience operating sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and access rooftop work areas
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work throughout the day
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding construction activities
