Position Title: Driver/Installer
Position Tasks: Load and unload equipment. Deliver and pick up equipment. Clean equipment as specified. Conveys materials using equipment such as forklifts, dollies or other mechanical warehouse equipment. Restocks equipment according to company procedure. Assist with proper loading of delivery trucks and securing of equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Maintain an organized shop by returning tools and unused parts to the appropriate storage area. Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed. Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups. While driving company vehicle:
o Serve as store representative.
o Carry driver’s license at ALL time.
o Observe all laws.
o Keep vehicles clean.
o Notify manager of any scrapes, dents or accidents.
o Notify manager of any mechanical difficulties. Double check delivered items to make sue customers receive exactly what they ordered. Turn in all funds collected to office manager upon return. Perform other duties as requested.
Nature of the Work:
Works with minimal supervision. Must demonstrate responsible behavior and attention to detail. The work is typically very physical and demanding, both from strength requirements and the stamina required. There is a high degree of lifting and a significant degree of standing, walking, bending and transporting objects of various weights and dimensions. Will load and unload trucks. Must operate and control loading equipment such as a self-propelled forklift. Must service customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner. Must accept and follow instructions from supervisors.
Working Conditions:
This job requires constant interaction with co-workers and with the public. May be exposed to the general range of weather experienced in the area, with the exception of several hours in the warehouse loading or unloading and drive time. Some work areas may not be heated or air conditioned. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene and cleaning solvents. Some electrical equipment, lighting and extension cords are delivered.
Education, Skills & Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required. Must be 18 years of age. Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs. Must maintain a professional appearance. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Must display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
