This individual will serve in a receptionist role. They will assist visitors as they arrive and while they work in the computer area. They will provide clerical services for the supervisor.

Minimum Education/Experience
Must be a current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the fall or spring semesters or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the summer.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
Knowledge of basic office equipment operation, including computers, printers, and multi-function devices
Knowledge of record-keeping and data entry practices
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to operate office equipment and standard software applications
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and college information
Ability to provide professional and courteous assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitor
Ability to maintain a welcoming and professional reception area
Ability to follow established procedures, policies, and instructions
Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the center to assist students and perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, and staff to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position frequently requires the person to operate and inspect a computer and other Writing Center equipment to assist and/or instruct students on proper operation.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to view a computer multiple hours in a day.They are asked to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor center, classroom, or office setting.

Required Training Work Hours
This position offers up to 25 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible according to the Writing Center’s needs, Monday through Saturday.
