- Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) on various types of pipes, MUST be able to pass the pipe weld test.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications
- Set up welding equipment and select proper welding techniques
- Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of pipes before welding
- Monitor welding process and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect welded joints for quality and accuracy
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects on time
- Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate tasks and ensure project requirements are met.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship.
Proficiency in SMAW techniques and procedures, including vertical and overhead welding.
Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications.
Knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures.
Physical strength and dexterity to work in various positions and environments.
Certification in SMAW welding from a recognized organization, such as the American Welding Society (AWS) or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Experience working with pipe materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy metals.
Strong attention to detail and quality control to ensure precise and accurate welds.
