Position Summary
As a CNC Mill Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and making program adjustments on CNC vertical machining centers. You'll work from engineering drawings to manufacture precision components while maintaining tight tolerances and high quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist who enjoys a variety of work—not running the same part every day.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC vertical machining centers
- Load tools, fixtures, and workholding for new jobs
- Make program edits and tool offset adjustments at the machine
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
- Hold tight tolerances while maintaining excellent quality
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Monitor tooling, machine performance, and surface finish
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of CNC milling experience
- Experience setting up and operating CNC vertical machining centers
- Ability to edit programs and adjust tool offsets
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred
- Experience with Haas or Fanuc-controlled CNC mills
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Experience with fixture setup and workholding
- Familiarity with Mastercam-generated programs
- Crane and forklift experience
