Job Summary:
This role is critical in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency and ensuring high-quality machining operations for large scale CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills and five axis machining centers used in the machining of large forgings for critical applications. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing and refining CNC machining processes, tooling strategies and workflow optimization to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop and optimize CNC machining processes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective
production.
2. Design and improve tooling, fixtures and work-holding solutions for CNC machines.
3. Work closely with machinists and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
4. Conduct time studies and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve cycle times and reduce costs.
5. Oversee new product introductions ensuring smooth transition from design to productions.
6. Collaborate with quality control to maintain high standards and implement corrective actions when needed.
7. Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting and resolving machine-related issues.
8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
QUALIFICIATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in CNC machining, process engineering or alternatively an associate's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related manufacturing setting.
3. Strong knowledge of G-code programming, CAD/CAM software (such as Mastercam, NX or Fusion 3620) and GD&T.
4. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and 3D models.
6. Excellent problem-solving, communication and project management skills.
7. Demonstrates leadership ability.
8. Attention to detail required.
