Valex is looking for multiple welders to join our team in Ventura, CA. You will perform standard production operations related to the fabrication of production fittings using various welding methods. You will also weld and fabricate fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing and engineering operations, working from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions. Supply a product which meets the criteria for this stage of work in progress. identifying and separating non conforming parts(scrap parts or acceptable parts) and noting such on the related paperwork. Perform either orbital or internal autogenous welding and machine programming operations related to the fabrication or production of products. Perform routine layouts and set-ups, checking dimensions and tolerances as they apply to welding.
The successful candidate will have the ability to setup and operate various pieces of shop equipment and machinery . You must also be able to read and interpret drawings, follow written and verbal instructions in English, have good hand to eye dexterity, lift/carry up to 25 pounds often, and be able to interface with others successfully. Capable of being certified by Valex Corp in accordance with ASME Section 9 procedure qualifications for autogenous welding. This is a full-time, non-exempt, bargaining (union) position and you will be expected to join our union upon hire (there is a nominal initiation fee and monthly dues). There are three levels for the Welder classification and you will be hired into the level that best matches your experience/knowledge. The hourly rate pay range for the three levels is $26.46 to $33.87. 2nd shift positions will add an additional $3/hr to the base rate.
