Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Crematory Operator and Transporter to join our compassionate team. In this vital role, you will oversee the proper operation of cremation equipment, ensure respectful handling of remains, and coordinate transportation logistics with professionalism and sensitivity. Your expertise will support families during their most challenging moments by providing dignified cremation services, including traditional cremation and alkaline hydrolysis, while adhering strictly to safety protocols and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Operate cremation equipment safely and efficiently, including traditional cremation units and alkaline hydrolysis systems, ensuring compliance with all crematory regulations.
- Handle the transport of remains for cremation with care, dignity, and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
- Witness cremations to ensure proper procedures are followed, maintaining transparency and integrity throughout the process.
- Assist with cremation ceremonial arrangements, providing emotional support and guidance to grieving families during sensitive moments.
- Maintain detailed records of all cremation processes, transport logs, and regulatory documentation for accountability and compliance purposes.
- Troubleshoot industrial equipment related to cremation and post-cremation processing machinery to ensure continuous operation.
- Follow strict safety protocols during all operations, including heavy lifting, moving remains, and operating industrial equipment to prevent accidents or injuries.
Experience
- Prior experience in funeral directing or crematory operations is highly preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment used in cremation processes is advantageous.
- Familiarity with safety protocol adherence, regulatory compliance (including crematory regulations), and record keeping practices is essential.
- Experience in providing emotional support for clients during difficult times enhances service quality.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and move remains safely while maintaining professionalism is required.
- Knowledge of traditional cremation methods as well as newer techniques such as alkaline hydrolysis is a plus.
