Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Class C Driver, specializing as a Bobtail Driver, to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will operate commercial vehicles with a focus on delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, GPS navigation, and over-the-road driving will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class C commercial vehicles, including bobtail trucks (26-footer) , on designated routes such as OTR (Over the Road) driving routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load, secure, and unload freight with precision, handling logistics cargo with care to prevent damage or loss
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes and meet delivery deadlines efficiently
- Transport various types of freight, including hazardous materials (Hazmat), dangerous goods, refrigerated items, flatbed loads, and tankers, following all hazardous materials regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in accordance with DOT regulations
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate route planning and address any logistical challenges promptly
Requirements
- Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or truck loading/unloading roles
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and manual handling equipment safely
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient delivery schedules
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods transportation
- Experience in load & unload procedures, freight handling, and truck loading/unloading processes
- Strong communication skills to coordinate deliveries and ensure customer satisfaction
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety standards while maintaining a lively pace in a fast-moving environment
- Approximately 50% of the position will involve warehouse work between deliveries, including:
- Lumper duties
- Cleaning
- Production
- Stocking
- Order pulling
- Other general warehouse duties as needed
