Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our dynamic automotive team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for service, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Your enthusiasm and mechanical knowledge will help you accurately assess vehicle needs, communicate effectively with customers, and coordinate repairs with our skilled technicians. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended services and estimates, ensuring transparency and building trust with customers
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle condition and customer needs to maximize dealership revenue
- Write clear and accurate service orders, including auto estimating and repair descriptions, while managing service writing responsibilities
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services like tire service, alignments, or diesel engine repairs
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper records of all service-related payments
- Maintain a strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures, including auto body repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other mechanical components
- Foster excellent customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-up to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business
Experience
- Proven dealership experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar automotive service management role
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and vehicle maintenance
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing processes
- Experience in upselling services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire service, or diesel engine repairs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Background in mechanic work or service technician experience is highly desirable for understanding complex repairs like transmissions or auto body work
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial dealings
