Whitehouse Ohio Works is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our teams across Akron, Canton, and Wooster. In this role, you will provide vital daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them gain independence, learn new skills, and thrive in their communities. Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities (cooking, cleaning, personal care).
- Provide transportation to community outings, medical appointments, and errands.
- Help individuals develop social, behavioral, and independent living skills.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment at all times.
- Support medication administration and ensure care plans are followed accurately and safely
- Document client progress, incidents, and care activities thoroughly and accurately in compliance with agency policies
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact compassionately with clients and team members effectively.
- Must be willing to complete and pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) fingerprint check.
Preferred Certifications (Pluses, but will train the right candidate!)
- First Aid Certification
- CPR Certification
- Medication Administration Certification (Med Cert)

Pay: $16.00 per hour
