American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring a CO or compact RN license and 2+ years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
-
Work in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
-
Care for cardiac telemetry, CVA, and general MS/Tele patient populations
-
Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
-
Call requirement of 2 shifts per month, which may fall on days or nights depending on unit needs
-
No weekend or floating requirements specified
-
Uses Pyxis medication system
-
Uses Amrita documentation system
-
Any scrub color permitted
-
Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
-
Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience required
-
Experience in Cardiac Telemetry and Telemetry settings required
-
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
-
Experience with blood product administration and port access/management
-
Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
-
Experience with heparin protocols and titrating cardiac drips
-
Skilled in respiratory care including HFNC, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive airway management
-
Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
-
Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management
-
Experience with total joint replacement orthopedic care preferred
-
Charting system experience required
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical/surgical telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Manage patients with respiratory needs including tracheostomy care and oxygen administration
-
Administer medications per protocols including insulin and heparin drips
-
Perform wound care and maintain isolation precautions as needed
-
RTO requests must be approved by the unit manager
