Job Description
Starr Rail LLC is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician / Assistant Operations Manager to join our team. The right individual will be responsible for the ongoing equipment maintenance, shift management of the Birmingham Packaging and Rail Terminal, and day-to-day operations of the 40lbs-bag salt packaging line and its employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the salt packaging line, including safety, quality control, dispatcher relations, and railcar placement
- Oversee railcar moving operations
- Understand every component and maintenance requirement for equipment in the railcar discharge and salt packaging line operational area (includes screw conveyors, bucket elevator, net weight bagging system, belt conveyors, robotic stacking equipment, pallet wrappers, fork lifts, etc)
- Oversee the training and employee development (7-10 people under supervision)
- Ensure that all employees are performing at or above standard
- Ensure that all safety regulations are being followed at all times
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are being followed at all times
- Ensure that employees are being informed of upcoming schedules and deadlines
- Confirm weekly payroll reports for management with accurate data
- Perform other duties as assigned. (cleaning up areas around terminal, inventory of terminal supplies, other people's jobs, etc.).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in equipment maintenance capacity (ideally in a warehouse/packaging related field)
- Minimum of 2 years as a supervisor preferable

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
