Our practice provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, ADHD treatment, anxiety and depression treatment, mood disorder management, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, and other psychiatric services. We also offer advanced treatments including TMS and Spravato®. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, clinically strong Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who wants to become part of a growing practice and build a long-term career with our team. The Opportunity The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable practicing outpatient psychiatry, can manage a patient panel independently, communicates well with patients and staff, and understands that excellent psychiatric care involves more than simply prescribing medication. You will have support from our psychiatric providers, clinical staff, front office, billing team, and treatment coordinators. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions within your scope of practice Provide ongoing medication management Develop individualized treatment plans Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and safety Provide appropriate patient education Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Complete follow-up visits and medication management Coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, specialists, and other members of the patient's treatment team when appropriate Recognize and appropriately manage psychiatric emergencies and higher-acuity patients Participate in treatment planning for patients receiving TMS or Spravato® when appropriate Maintain compliance with Louisiana laws, professional standards, and clinic policies Communicate effectively with the clinical and administrative team Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and practice-development activities Patient Population Our providers may see a diverse outpatient population including: ADHD Anxiety disorders Major depressive disorder Bipolar disorders PTSD OCD Insomnia Mood disorders Psychotic disorders Trauma-related disorders Substance-use disorders Veterans and first responders Adolescents and adults Experience with pediatric/adolescent psychiatry is a plus but is not required for every position.
