From The Heart Home Care is urgently hiring an experienced respite caregiver for a client in Aiken, SC.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting individuals with special needs and developmental disabilities. The schedule follows the parent's needs and may occasionally be adjusted, so flexibility is important.
Schedule
Monday – Friday | 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Every Other Saturday | 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
➡ Approximately 20+ hours per week
Client Needs & Requirements
- Provide respite care and supervision
- Assist with daily routines and activities
- Encourage engagement through age-appropriate and meaningful activities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily living tasks as needed
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with individuals with special needs and developmental/intellectual disabilities REQUIRED
- Experience providing respite care preferred
- Must be dependable and reliable (attendance is critical)
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a home setting
- Flexible with scheduling as hours may adjust around the parent's schedule
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle (REQUIRED – Uber/Lyft and ride-share services are not accepted for this position)
- MUST BE A SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENT
- Ability to pass a background check
