Part-Time Floater - Infant & Young Toddler Classrooms
Severna Park Children's Centre, Inc. (SPCC) is seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Part-Time Floater to support our Infant and Young Toddler classrooms.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and values variety in their day. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide classroom coverage while our full-time teachers take breaks and lunches, while also assisting classrooms as needed throughout the day.
Schedule
- Part-time position
- Approximately 15-25 hours per week
- Monday-Friday
- Daytime hours between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM (hours may vary based on staffing needs)
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for teacher breaks and lunches in Infant and Young Toddler classrooms
- Assist with maintaining classroom ratios throughout the day
- Support teachers with daily routines including feeding, diapering, toileting, and nap time
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment
- Follow all licensing regulations and center policies
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members
- Assist in additional classrooms when needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with infants and toddlers preferred
- Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teaching teams
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Must meet all Maryland Office of Child Care requirements for employment in a licensed childcare center

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
