Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Director to lead our dietary department with professionalism and expertise. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dietary management within healthcare or assisted living settings, demonstrating leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of nutrition and food safety regulations. As Food Service Director, you will oversee all aspects of food service operations, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, safe, and appealing meals that meet residents’ individual needs while maintaining compliance with health policies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus that align with nutritional standards, resident preferences, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor dietary staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on quality service delivery.
- Manage departmental budgets, control food costs, and oversee inventory to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety management protocols and health regulation policies across all operations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans that incorporate specialized diets such as tube feeding or therapeutic nutrition.
- Oversee the proper use of electronic health records (EHR) systems for documenting dietary assessments and care plans.
- Conduct regular training on food safety practices, dietary procedures, and compliance standards for staff members.
- Monitor the quality of food preparation and presentation to uphold high standards of nutrition and customer satisfaction.
Skills
- Extensive experience in nursing home or healthcare food service management with knowledge of patient assessment and clinical nutrition.
- Proven supervisory experience leading dietary teams within regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of health regulation policies related to food safety management and facility compliance.
- Expertise in managing budgets, inventory control, and cost-effective meal planning.
- Knowledge of physiology related to nutrition needs, care plans, and specialized diets such as tube feeding or acute care nutrition.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation of care activities and nutritional assessments.
- Excellent leadership skills combined with team management capabilities to motivate staff toward excellence.
- Familiarity with dietary department operations including food safety standards, clinical nutrition practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
