Traffic Signal Laborer
Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable Traffic Signal Laborer to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems and related roadway infrastructure. This is a hands-on position that involves working outdoors, around traffic, and on active construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation and maintenance of traffic signal equipment, poles, conduit, wiring, and foundations.
- Perform excavation, backfilling, concrete work, and general construction tasks.
- Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment.
- Assist signal technicians and crew leaders with daily construction activities.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment as trained.
- Set up and maintain proper work-zone traffic control and safety measures.
- Follow project plans, specifications, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the crew leader or supervisor.
Qualifications
- Construction experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, digging, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work safely around traffic and heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Willingness to learn traffic signal construction and electrical practices.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-minded, willing to work hard, and interested in developing a career in traffic signal construction. Previous construction, electrical, underground utility, or roadway experience is a plus.
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
