We're seeking a passionate ASL educator to join our Upper School faculty at Fort Bend Christian Academy for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will create engaging learning environments that foster language acquisition, cultural appreciation, and effective communication skills. Courses will primarily include, but not limited to, ASL I – ASL III.
What Makes You an Ideal Candidate:
- A demonstrated ability to teach high school ASL
- Experience creating immersive language-learning environments
- A passion for making ASL and deaf culture accessible and engaging for all learners
- Bachelor's degree in ASL or related field required; Master's degree preferred
- Fluency in ASL
- Experience teaching middle school and/or high school ASL is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of professional, timely communication with students and parents
- A service-oriented mindset focused on supporting student success
- At least two years of teaching experience is preferred

- Create engaging, immersive learning experiences that promote authentic communication and bring ASL and Deaf culture to life
- Foster language acquisition through visual comprehension, expressive signing, and cultural literacy
- Integrate appropriate technology tools to enhance language learning and cultural exploration
- Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and inform instruction
- Integrate Biblical perspectives thoughtfully into language instruction
- Support student growth through additional help during office hours
