Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Access Control Officer to oversee entry points at our client’s facility during the afternoon and early evening shifts, with specific hours from 2pm to 10pm on Sundays and 6am to 2pm on Sundays. This role involves managing access control systems, conducting surveillance, performing security checks, and responding swiftly to incidents. Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors using access control systems
- Conduct thorough surveillance using CCTV cameras and perform visual patrols of the premises
- Enforce security policies by performing background checks and verifying credentials
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including first aid situations, fire alarms, or security breaches
- Write detailed incident reports for any security-related events or irregularities
- Perform physical security duties such as patrolling premises, heavy lifting when necessary, and manual handling tasks
- Manage emergency response procedures including AED operation, CPR, Taser deployment, and conflict de-escalation techniques
Qualifications
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement is highly desirable
- Knowledge of surveillance equipment such as CCTV systems and access control technology
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and Taser use preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling safely
- Strong communication skills for conflict management and incident report writing
- Familiarity with security regulations, loss prevention strategies, and emergency response procedures
- Demonstrated ability to perform background checks and enforce compliance with security policies
