American Plains Coop is hiring for a Seasonal Harvest Associate at the Albert, KS location. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service; operating the scale; assisting with grain and/or fertilizer operations; and maintaining the interior and exterior Cooperative grounds. This employee is also responsible for teamwork and following safety policies and procedures. This is a temporary position for the fall harvest season and will require longer hours during peak periods. Full-time employment may be considered at the end of seasonal employment.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve customers by responding to customer inquiries, questions, and/or complaints in a prompt, respectful, and professional manner;
- Loading and dumping trucks; monitoring grain conditions and maintaining acceptable standards; and operating the scale including: probing grain, taking samples, and entering sales tickets;
- Responsible for fertilizer operations and understanding their abilities of control including: loading fertilizer; loading and dumping trucks; maintaining equipment; and housekeeping duties;
- Keep interior and exterior (including the yard and drive) work areas neat, clean, organized and keep current with housekeeping and maintenance;
- Ability to work longer hours during peak seasons;
- Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements;
- Understand and comply with all state and federal regulations;
- Present a clean and professional appearancePerform all other duties as assigned;
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions. May be exposed to grain dust and/or toxic chemicals. Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be a least 18 years of age.
