Job Summary
Family Health Care Clinic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Claims Specialist to join our team in Pearl, MS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims processing and an ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing, processing, and managing claims to ensure prompt and accurate resolution.
Duties
- Review and process medical claims using ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT coding, and DRG classifications.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients, including Medicare and workers' compensation law compliance.
- Ensure accurate filing of medical records and documentation related to claims.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary medical documentation and resolve claim discrepancies.
- Utilize financial software to track claim status, payments, and denials.
- Maintain organized records of all claims processed, including detailed notes on claim status and correspondence.
- Stay updated on current medical billing practices, ICD coding updates, and insurance policies.
Skills
- Proven clerical experience with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in filing, medical documentation, and managing medical records.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and healthcare laws such as workers' compensation law.
- Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, HCPCS, and medical billing/coding standards.
- Experience with medical terminology and understanding of Medicare policies.
- Ability to navigate financial software related to claims processing efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
