American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level 2 NICU position in Payson, UT, requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and active NRP certification.

Small 5-bed Level 2 NICU within a hospital setting, caring for infants 32 weeks gestation and older, up to 30 days of age
-
Patient ratios are 1:1 for CPAP patients, 1:2 standard, and occasionally 1:3 for feeder/grower patients

Equipment used includes CPAP, Hi-Flow, OG tubes, IVs, PANDA warmers, and Giraffe warmers — no ventilators; vented patients are transferred
-
Procedures performed include surfactant administration, UVC placement, occasional chest tubes, and delivery catch and transition

Documents using CPN (Centricity Perinatal)

Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 3 shifts per week

Floating to Mother/Baby is expected, as NICU census is approximately 50 patients per year; travelers will work Mother/Baby the majority of the time

NICU, Labor & Delivery, and Postpartum units are co-located and work closely together; a second NICU nurse is always present

Active UT RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand required

Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required

Required certifications: NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card), STABLE, and BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)

Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted

One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Nurses are responsible for delivery catch and newborn transitions, in addition to standard NICU care
-
Mother/Baby cross-training may be provided for candidates without prior Mother/Baby experience

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Wine-colored scrubs are required; some scrubs are available on the unit

The Women's Services department has been recognized as a Unit of Distinction for 3 consecutive years

The unit has a stable, low-turnover nursing team with a collaborative and supportive work environment

The facility delivers 30–40 babies per month
