<Duties>
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring complete and compliant medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records efficiently.
- Practice four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and reduce procedure time while maintaining high standards of care.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to dental terminology or procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures related to dental diagnostics and contribute to comprehensive treatment planning.
<Experience>
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting is required; familiarity with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly preferred.
- Competency in taking X-rays (including digital radiography) and operating 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices related to dental procedures is advantageous.
- Prior experience supporting specialized areas like prosthodontics or endodontics will be considered an asset.
