Who We Are:
Countryside Heating and Cooling is a growing, local family owned HVAC company based in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. We are looking for our next team member as we continue to expand.
We are hiring a full time HVAC Installer / Installation Technician to primarily perform residential and light commercial HVAC installations throughout southeastern Wisconsin.
This is an installation focused position with possibility of service overflow, not a sales position and not an on call service technician position.
We are open to different experience levels. An experienced installer capable of independently completing high quality installations can earn toward the top of the posted pay range. We are also willing to train and develop someone with less HVAC experience who is mechanically inclined, dependable, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a career in the trade.
Our work goes well beyond basic furnace and air conditioner changeouts. Depending on your experience and interests, you can have opportunities to work with:
- Furnaces and conventional split systems
- Air conditioners and heat pumps
- Boilers and hydronic heating
- Radiant heating systems
- Water source heat pumps
- Ductwork and ventilation
- Zoning and advanced controls
- Rooftop and light commercial equipment
- VRF/VRV and other complex commercial HVAC systems
You don’t need to already know all of these systems. We’re looking for someone who wants to keep learning.
What You’ll Do:
- Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, evaporator coils, air handlers, and related HVAC equipment
- Assist with and/or install boilers and hydronic heating systems
- Install and work with water source heat pumps and other specialty HVAC equipment
- Gain exposure to complex commercial systems, including VRF/VRV equipment
- Install refrigerant piping, gas piping, venting, condensate piping, electrical connections, controls, and accessories
- Fabricate and install sheet metal transitions and ductwork
- Perform equipment replacements and new installations in residential and light commercial applications
- Follow manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and company installation standards
- Perform system startup and commissioning
- Maintain clean, organized, professional jobsites
- Properly protect customers’ homes and property while working
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other trades
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment organized and cared for
What We’re Looking For:
Experienced HVAC applicants:
- Previous HVAC installation experience
- Ability to independently complete common residential HVAC replacements is highly valued
- Strong mechanical ability and understanding of HVAC installation practices
- EPA Section 608 certification preferred, but not required
- Ability to read installation manuals, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans
- Basic sheet metal fabrication skills
- Experience with boilers, hydronics, heat pumps, water source equipment, controls, VRF/VRV, or commercial HVAC is a major plus
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Less experienced applicants and skilled tradespeople are encouraged to apply.
Don’t have years of HVAC experience yet? That does not automatically disqualify you.
We are willing to train the right mechanically inclined person who demonstrates reliability, attention to detail, problem solving ability, and a genuine desire to learn the trade.
Automotive technicians and mechanics are specifically encouraged to apply. Our owner came into HVAC with an automotive background, and we have seen firsthand how the mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, and hands on skills developed in the automotive industry can transfer extremely well into HVAC. Previous HVAC employment is not required for the right candidate.
Experience in plumbing, electrical, mechanical maintenance, construction, or other skilled trades is also valuable. Relevant trade licenses or certifications in these areas are a plus.
We would rather develop someone who wants to become an excellent tradesperson than hire someone experienced who doesn’t care about the quality of their work.
Tools & Company Vehicle:
Countryside provides the major power tools, specialty HVAC tools, test equipment, and equipment necessary to perform the work.
Experienced installers are expected to have the normal personal hand tools associated with the trade. For a newer employee entering the trade, we are willing to help get the right person equipped with the basic tools needed to get started.
A company work truck and fuel are provided during the workday. Installers generally report to our Pewaukee shop in the morning, use the company vehicle throughout the workday, and return it to the shop at the end of the day.
Pay:
$25–$45 per hour
Compensation is based heavily on experience, demonstrated ability, quality of workmanship, and level of independence.
We are willing to pay toward the top of the range for an experienced installer who can take responsibility for a job and consistently produce high quality work. Applicants with less experience can start within the appropriate portion of the range and have room to advance as their abilities grow.
Overtime is available and may be required depending on workload and seasonal demand.
Benefits:
- Paid time off
- Company work vehicle
- Company fuel card
- Major and specialty tools provided
- Professional development and paid training opportunities
- Parental leave
- Opportunities to learn advanced HVAC, boilers, hydronics, heat pumps, water source equipment, controls, VRF/VRV, and commercial systems
- Opportunity for advancement as the company continues to grow
Work, Family & Life:
HVAC can be demanding, especially during busy seasons, and we expect our employees to be dependable and take their responsibilities seriously.
At the same time, we understand that employees have families and lives outside of work. Kids get sick, appointments happen, and sometimes legitimate family needs can’t wait until the end of the workday.
When those situations arise, we will make a reasonable effort to work with our employees and provide flexibility when we can. We believe you can expect people to work hard and be dependable while still treating them like human beings.
What Matters Here:
We take pride in doing things correctly.
We’re looking for someone who cares what the mechanical room looks like when the job is finished, respects customers and their property, can work as part of a team, and wants to continue becoming better at the trade.
As Countryside Heating and Cooling grows, we want the right people to grow with it. For the right person, this position has the opportunity to develop into a lead installer and larger leadership role as our installation team expands.
If you’re looking for a small company where your work matters, your ability is recognized, you can continue learning challenging mechanical systems, and you have an opportunity to grow alongside the business, we’d like to hear from you.
Apply through Indeed with your work history and relevant HVAC, automotive, mechanical, or skilled trade experience.
