Accounts Receivable SpecialistJob Summary
Carolina Brick is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. This position is responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, maintaining accurate customer accounts, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced construction materials supply environment. Experience with NetSuite and strong accounting skills are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, payment application, account reconciliation, and collections using NetSuite.
- Monitor customer aging reports and proactively communicate with customers regarding past-due balances while maintaining positive business relationships.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer account concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Analyze accounts receivable data using Microsoft Excel to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with the sales team, customer service representatives, dispatch, and management to resolve account issues and ensure accurate billing.
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable, cash receipts, and financial reporting.
- Support other accounting functions, including accounts payable, as business needs require.
- Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities, customer communications, credit adjustments, and account notes.
- Provide outstanding customer service while representing Carolina Brick in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or a related finance role.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP software is required.
- Previous experience in the construction, masonry, building materials, or construction supply industry is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with account reconciliations, commercial customer accounts, and collections is preferred.
