Join our early childhood education team as an Afternoon Preschool Assistant. Hours for this position are 3-6 Monday through Friday. Additional hours are available if interested
In this role, you will support classroom activities, assist with child supervision, and ensure a safe and positive space for children to explore and grow during the afternoon hours. Your energy and compassion will contribute to fostering a love of learning while promoting social, emotional, and developmental skills in school-aged children.
Duties
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and positive behavior management
- Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining a clean, inviting environment
- Support behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and social skills among children
- Help facilitate transitions between activities smoothly, ensuring a structured yet flexible schedule
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for all children
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in preschool, daycare, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare and classroom management
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or behavioral challenges
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, parents, and caregivers
- Compassionate caregiving attitude with patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for early childhood education
- Experience in nannying or babysitting young children can be valuable in this role
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
