Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in New Jersey to join our in-office oral surgery team. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong clinical judgment, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to manage patient care in an outpatient surgical setting. Critical care or Emergency room experience is highly preferred due to the use of IV sedation and the need for rapid response to medical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist oral surgeons during in-office surgical procedures, including IV sedation cases
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures in an outpatient setting
- Administer medications and IV sedation in accordance with New Jersey regulations and office protocols
- Continuously assess patient vitals and respond to any changes in condition
- Manage emergency situations with confidence and clinical expertise
- Maintain accurate and compliant patient documentation
- Provide thorough pre- and post-operative patient education
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, infection control, and safety standards
- Support efficient patient flow in a high-functioning surgical practice
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey (required)
- 1–2+ years of clinical experience; Emergency Room (ER) or Critical care experience strongly preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required or willingness to obtain)
- IV certification and experience with moderate/deep sedation strongly preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
- Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills
