The Veterinary Neurological center, the nation’s first private veterinary neurological hospital, is currently seeking an experienced Imaging Technician to work alongside our skilled and dedicated technical support team assisting our neurologists. Medical imaging is an essential component for the diagnosis and treatment, both medical and surgical, of our patients’ neurological disorders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is skilled with MRI and/or CT and has a love for animals and a desire to be involved in the cutting edge of veterinary medical imaging and associated applications. This position is open to both Veterinary Imaging Technicians as well as MRI/CT Technicians and Technologists who are looking for opportunities outside of the human medical field. Previous veterinary experience and/or ARMRIT or AART certification are not required but are preferred.

Description:
This person will work directly with VNC Neurologists and the Hospital Director/Lead Imaging Technician to perform MRI/CT examinations of our patients, coordinate the flow of patients to and from MR/CT, and provide the highest quality care to our patients and clients. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:

Prepare and Position Animals with Care for MRI/CT imaging as patients are under general anesthesia.

Transport Anesthetized Patients from Radiology to our MR trailer or CT room while breathing for them with an ambu-bag.

Produce High Quality MRI / CT Images by following and verifying neurologists’ orders and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures utilizing our 8-channel, 1.5T GE HDXT MRI and GE Multi-Slice CT Scanners.

Work Closely with Anesthesia Technicians to ensure patient safety during MRI/CT procedures and to ensure any medical emergencies are quickly recognized and addressed.

Coordinate Efficient Flow of Patients To and From MRI / CT by maintaining excellent communication with the Technicians, Lead Imaging Technician, Neurologists, and Client Service Representatives.

Clean and Maintain MRI / CT Rooms and Equipment

Assist with Updating / Improving Imaging Protocols and Procedures with the Lead Imaging Technician to ensure the images produced are of the highest quality.

Assist with 3D Printing of Anatomical Models by working with the 3D Printing Technician and Neurologists to obtain images necessary to create 3D models.

Enter Imaging Services in Patient Medical Record so that services are properly documented and invoiced using ezyVet practice management software.
While the primary focus of this position is MRI and CT imaging of patients, the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and assist the Technicians with patients in our Treatment Area will be available to those with previous veterinary experience and those who wish to learn.
