Job Overview
Pooch Playhouse is looking for a dependable, hardworking Seasonal Pet Care Team Member to join our team during our busy season. This role is perfect for someone who loves dogs, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and stays attentive while caring for pets in a group setting.
We are specifically looking for someone with strong Saturday availability and evening availability. Night shifts are a major need for this position, with typical hours running from 1:00 PM to close, around 7:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise dogs in playgroups and monitor behavior to ensure safe interactions
Feed pets and follow all feeding instructions carefully
Administer medications according to written instructions
Clean kennels, play yards, and common areas throughout the day
Monitor pets for signs of stress, illness, injury, or behavioral changes
Assist with boarding check-ins, check-outs, and daily care routines
Help maintain a safe and positive environment for pets and staff
Communicate important observations or concerns with team members promptly
Requirements:
MUST be available Saturdays
MUST be available for evening shifts, typically 1:00 PM to close around 7:00 PM
Holiday availability required
Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
Able to stay attentive and make sound judgment calls in group settings
Dependable, organized, and able to multitask
Able to work in a physically demanding, team-oriented environment
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous kennel, daycare, boarding, veterinary, or animal care experience preferred, but not required
