We are seeking a Senior Indirect Sourcing Specialist to support global facilities and operations sourcing initiatives. This role will focus on indirect procurement categories such as managed facility services, security services, construction services and other facilities-related services.
This is a hybrid position based in Marlborough, MA with 3 days onsite per week. Local candidates are preferred. This role is a 6 to 12 month contract with possible temp-to-hire potential for the right individual if budget is approved.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex RFI/RFP processes, including sourcing strategy development, supplier engagement, bid analysis, negotiation strategy and contract negotiations with facility service providers.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned Facilities and Operational Services categories.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, supplier optimization and risk mitigation.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to forecast and consolidate demand.
- Align sourcing strategies with business priorities and support value improvement initiatives.
- Gather and analyze global spend data, market trends and supply chain risks.
- Develop recommendations that drive cost savings, cost avoidance and service improvements.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance reviews, scorecards, governance routines and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Negotiate supplier contracts to improve cost, service levels, commercial terms and overall supplier performance.
- Lead initiatives focused on supplier consolidation, preferred supplier utilization and improved compliance with sourcing strategies and company policies.
- Apply sourcing expertise, business judgment and market knowledge to solve sourcing and supplier-related issues.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and help align sourcing strategies with operational and financial objectives.
- Work independently across multiple sourcing initiatives while escalating complex or high-risk issues when needed.
- Support and guide less experienced team members on sourcing processes, tools and best practices.
- Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5 to 7+ years of procurement experience.
- Strong experience with global Facilities, Operations or services-based indirect procurement categories.
- Experience leading sourcing initiatives including RFI/RFP execution, supplier evaluation, negotiation and contract award recommendations.
- Experience managing global supplier relationships, including performance management and service optimization.
- Experience developing or executing sourcing strategies across indirect procurement or services-based categories.
- Ability to analyze spend, supplier and market data to develop recommendations and support business decisions.
- Experience negotiating supplier contracts and driving value improvement initiatives.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Tableau, SAP, Ariba or similar systems preferred.
- Experience with AI applications such as CoPilot, ChatGPT, Deep Research or similar tools preferred.
