About the role
American TelePhysicians is building a connected, physician-led model of care inside skilled nursing and dialysis settings across the Orlando area. We are hiring a Medical Assistant who wants more than a back-office role: someone who will be hands on in the field, activating new patients, keeping documentation clean, and making sure every patient is seen quickly. You will rotate across four partner nursing facilities, work directly with our operations lead and supervising physician, and play a direct role in growing access to care for patients.
What you'll do
- Round on-site at our partner nursing facilities (one day per week at each of four Orlando-area locations) for real-time patient intake and new-admit activation.
- Pre-screen new and existing patients: verify insurance and eligibility, gather missing records and charts, and confirm patients are ready for care.
- Coordinate same-week telehealth visits
- Capture and enter clinical data (vital signs, intake fields, care-management documentation) accurately into our EMR, and facility records.
- Support remote patient monitoring and chronic care management: patient outreach, device setup support, and follow-up.
- Protect claims integrity: make sure documentation supports clean, complete claims and flag any gaps.
- Perform standard medical assistant clinical tasks within Florida scope and report directly to the Operations lead.
What you'll bring
- High school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- 1+ year of medical assistant experience. Skilled nursing, dialysis, nephrology, or geriatric experience is a strong plus.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA).
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance (this is a field role across multiple facilities).
- Comfort with EMR and telehealth technology experience a plus.
- Strong organization, accurate documentation, and a working knowledge of HIPAA.
- Ability to work independently and own your day in the field.
Schedule & location
- Full-time (40 hours), flexible schedule, daytime, weekdays.
- In-person field role across four partner nursing facilities in the Orlando area. Daily travel between sites is required.
Pay & benefits
- $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience & qualifications.
- Benefits: Health stipend, milage/gas reimbursement for travel between facilities; and professional growth in a fast-scaling healthcare company.
