TownePlace Suites by Marriott Raleigh Durham Airport / Morrisville is seeking a passionate, energetic, and results-oriented Director of Sales to lead our sales and marketing efforts.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced hotel sales professional who thrives on building relationships, driving revenue, and leading a successful sales strategy. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will work closely with the General Manager to maximize occupancy, increase market share, and deliver outstanding financial results.

What You'll Do
As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that increase occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall hotel profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the annual sales and marketing plan to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Identify, solicit, and secure new corporate, group, extended-stay, government, and local business opportunities.
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships while developing new accounts.
- Build strong relationships with local businesses, medical facilities, universities, sports organizations, and event planners throughout the Raleigh-Durham market.
- Generate group, corporate, project, and extended-stay business through proactive sales efforts.
- Conduct outside sales calls, networking events, and client presentations.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and business opportunities to maximize revenue.
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management and Operations to optimize occupancy and guest satisfaction.
- Represent the hotel at community events, trade shows, and industry networking functions.
- Lead sales initiatives that increase market share and profitability while maintaining Marriott brand standards.
- Perform additional leadership responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of Marriott hotel sales experience.
- 2–4+ years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience.
- Previous experience as a Director of Sales, Director of Sales & Marketing, or Senior Sales Manager.
- Proven history of meeting or exceeding hotel revenue goals.
- Experience creating and executing annual sales and marketing plans.
- Strong knowledge of Marriott sales systems and hotel sales processes.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with hotel sales and CRM systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk throughout the hotel and attend outside sales appointments.
- Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Travel locally to sales appointments, networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, as business needs require.
