Duties Description Under the direction of the Park Manager and Office Manager, the selected candidate will:
- Communicate with patrons regarding inquiries over the phone and in person concerning the scheduling of special events, commercial activities, and room rentals.
- Schedule special events and activities, and issue special use permits in coordination with the Park Manager, Park Supervisor, Park Police and Park Partners.
- Verify that all permit information is correct, any fees are paid in full, and that insurance is collected, current, and meets the NYS requirements.
- Collecting fees and completing daily cashier reports and deposit slips while ensuring that all funds are safely deposited.
- Required to assist other park staff by filling in at the reception desk when needed and may also cover the reception desk on some days as scheduled.
- Responsible for distributing pavilion rental schedule and reserving pavilions for the public.
- Responsible for maintaining the events and room rental calendar.
- Coordinating the setup of reserved rooms to meet necessary room configurations.
- Assist with concert parking and fee collection duties.
- Work special events to ensure events are following the permit guidelines.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications NO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS TITLE PER CIVIL SERVICE.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A New York State driver's license is preferred though not required.
Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
- Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as with others.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe programs.
- Ability to communicate in writing and to read and comprehend written material. Must be capable of doing basic math such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
