Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to oversee activity across the premises and detect suspicious behavior.
- Control access points using security protocols and access control systems to verify identities and authorize entry.
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to ensure physical security, identify hazards, and deter unauthorized activity.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations by following established emergency response procedures, including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual occurrences with clarity and accuracy.
- Perform background checks on visitors or contractors when required, ensuring compliance with security regulations.
- Assist with loss prevention efforts by observing for theft or vandalism and reporting findings appropriately.
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems and conducting visual inspections.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and conflict de-escalation techniques to manage tense situations effectively.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for security operations or emergency response.
- Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, and security technology tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with visitors and staff.
- Training in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures to handle medical emergencies confidently.
- Experience in performing background checks, incident report writing, and adhering to security compliance standards.
