Wright Architectural Millwork Corp., an employee owned, Fifty-One-year-old custom Architectural Millwork manufacturer, located in Chicopee, MA., is seeking to hire a full-time Cabinetmaker “B”
Overview: The Cabinetmaker “B” is a mid-level position given to those individuals who show the ability to safely operate a wide range of standard wood working equipment and consistently fabricate mildly complex architectural millwork projects and or parts with accuracy and quality while efficiently managing their resources (including time, equipment and materials). This skill set would be developed after spending a few years working in the trade and showing progress as a cabinetmaker “C” and an ever growing portfolio of successful and varied projects. There should be a demonstrated understanding and interpretation of shop drawings. This individual should possess a working knowledge of best practices of the working properties of a wide range of materials, such as solid woods, veneers, substrates, joinery, hardware and other types of products that are incorporated in modern and traditional Architectural Millwork. The Cabinetmaker “B” should have a fairly well developed set of problem solving skills appropriate for the work. Individuals in this classification may also demonstrate highly proficient skills in successful operation of specific equipment and or processes. Additionally, from time to time the person in this classification may be called upon to work as a member of a team with a limited group of similarly or lesser skilled co-workers. While in this capacity providing mentorship and demonstrating safe working practices.
Demonstrated skill set: Work from shop drawings, sketches, work orders, purchase orders, verbal and written instructions, with some outside supervision. Set up and use a wide variety of standard stationary power tools, hand tools and power hand operated wood working equipment, design fixtures and jigs to effectively and efficiently produce such items as: Counters, casework, various solid wood components, wall paneling and other varying configurations of Architectural Millwork that require precise alignments, dimensions, smooth operation and final fitting of pieces. Accurately prepare items for finish by use of both equipment and hand preparation. Plan work so as to be productive with few perceivable gaps in flow and keep projects on expected timelines. Work with others to resolve any design, material or process difficulties as they affect the work. Provide positive direction and assistance to others as is appropriate for team success. This person will also integrate and facilitate the use of CNC and other major pieces of stationary equipment in the performance of his efforts but not necessarily program and / or operate such equipment. Make timely and consistent progress for promotion to the next skill level. Rework or rejection rate is negligible.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular physical activity in a manufacturing/shop environment. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floors and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive use of hands and arms.
The role includes lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and equipment, typically weighing up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require frequent material handling. Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Employees must be able to safely perform job duties while following all safety requirements.
