A chemical blending and powder processing company is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor / Safety Liaison to oversee daily manufacturing operations, supervise production personnel, and ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in chemical blending, powder handling, batch processing, packaging/filling operations, and ERP-driven production planning, along with strong leadership and safety management skills.
This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining OSHA compliance, managing staffing coordination, and ensuring production goals are achieved in a safe and controlled manufacturing environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Manufacturing Oversight
- Direct and supervise chemical blending, batch formulation, powder handling, and liquid filling/packaging operations.
- Oversee weighing, staging, mixing, and transfer of raw materials in accordance with formulation specifications.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMP standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental health & safety (EHS) procedures.
- Operate and oversee production equipment including:
- Ribbon blenders
- Paddle mixers
- Powder feeders
- Conveyance systems
- Filling lines
- Packaging equipment
- Monitor production KPIs including yield, throughput, scrap, and downtime.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality control, productivity, and safety performance.
- Maintain clean and organized production areas in accordance with 5S standards.
- Utilize ERP systems for:
- Production planning & scheduling
- Inventory control
- Raw material tracking
- Batch records & documentation
Powder Handling & Chemical Safety Management
- Ensure proper handling of powdered chemicals, fine particulates, and hazardous materials.
- Enforce dust control procedures and safe material transfer protocols.
- Verify proper use of respiratory protection (respirator fit-tested), PPE, gloves, eye protection, and protective garments.
- Conduct routine safety audits and walkthroughs of blending and packaging areas.
- Monitor ventilation systems and engineering controls to minimize airborne exposure.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate workers’ compensation documentation and injury response.
- Transport/accompany injured employees to clinic for evaluation and drug screening when required.
Employee Supervision & Workforce Coordination
- Supervise production operators, batch mixers, machine operators, and temporary staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and enforce accountability standards.
- Provide coaching, corrective action, and development planning.
- Coordinate staffing needs with external staffing agencies.
- Manage onboarding and ensure new hires receive:
- Safety training
- Equipment operation training
- PPE and respirator fit testing
- Maintain workforce scheduling to support production demands.
- Resolve employee concerns and minor conflicts professionally.
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as primary liaison between:
- Production team
- Staffing agency
- Company leadership
- Human Resources
- Prepare reports on:
- Production output
- Labor utilization
- Attendance
- Safety metrics
- Participate in management meetings and production planning sessions.
- Communicate production constraints, raw material shortages, or equipment issues proactively.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, blending, powder processing, or related industrial production environment
- Strong understanding of:
- Chemical formulations
- Batch processing
- Quality inspection & testing
- Hazard communication standards
- Experience operating and troubleshooting industrial mixing and packaging equipment
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, PPE compliance, and respirator programs
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in environments involving powders, airborne particulates, and chemical exposure controls

- Experience with dust collection systems and ventilation controls
- Familiarity with SDS documentation and hazard labeling
