Executive Chef / Events & Catering
The Village Chabad is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary experience for a variety of community events, private gatherings, Shabbat dinners, luncheons, holiday programs, and special events.
We are looking for someone who is not simply an excellent cook, but who has a strong eye for presentation, hospitality, creativity, and the overall guest experience.
The ideal candidate can take ownership of an event from the culinary side — developing the menu with our program director, preparing and executing the food, and ensuring that everything is beautifully presented and served at a high level.
Responsibilities
- Develop creative and elevated menus for a variety of events
- Create beautiful, thoughtful food displays and presentation
- Plan menus appropriate to the style, size, and atmosphere of each event
- Manage food preparation and timing so events run smoothly
- Coordinate purchasing, ingredients, quantities, and kitchen preparation (optional)
- Maintain consistently high standards of taste, quality, cleanliness, and presentation
- Work collaboratively with event staff and organizational leadership
Events May Include
Shabbat dinners, community luncheons, intimate gatherings, holiday celebrations, cocktail-style receptions, speaker events, donor gatherings, and larger community programs.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has significant professional culinary experience
- Is highly skilled in both cooking/baking and food presentation
- Has experience with catering, private events, upscale hospitality, or event-based culinary work
- Can comfortably prepare everything from elegant hors d’oeuvres and desserts to full seated meals
- Has a refined aesthetic and strong attention to detail
- Is organized, dependable, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple components of an event
- Can work independently and take genuine ownership of the culinary side of an event
- Enjoys creating food that feels warm, generous, elevated, and memorable
Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
