Job Summary
As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and driving high performance across all areas of the business. You will ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, cleanliness standards, and operational procedures.
You will lead the store in the Store Manager’s absence, maintaining efficient workflows, high-quality products, and exceptional guest experiences, turning first-time visitors into loyal returning guests. Success in this role depends on consistent execution of operational standards and a genuine commitment to developing your team.
Responsibilities, Abilities & Skills
- Oversee daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, staffing, inventory control, and cash management
- Lead the store in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth execution and strong team accountability
- Train, supervise, and coach team members; set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing constructive feedback
- Create and manage staff schedules to meet business needs and optimize labor efficiency; track attendance and employee KPIs
- Maintain inventory levels and oversee supply ordering
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations
- Monitor store performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency, sales, and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment
Qualifications & Expectations
- At least 1 year of leadership experience with responsibility for team supervision, daily operations, and opening/closing procedures
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, work with urgency, prioritize effectively, and maintain a high level of energy and focus while handling multiple responsibilities. A strong sense of urgency and the ability to move quickly and execute efficiently are essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative team culture
- Demonstrated ambition to grow into a people-focused leader and build a long-term career in management
- Mandarin speaking ability preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
What We Expect From You
- Flexible availability to work both opening and closing shifts based on business needs
- Store operating hours are 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM; opening shifts may begin as early as 8-9:00 AM, and closing shifts may end around 1-2:00 AM, depending on store needs
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required
Certification
- Valid California Food Handler Card
- Valid Food Protection Manager Certification required within 30 days of hire is preferred
