The Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach is a year to year position, approved by the Board of Trustees on an annual basis. This individual is responsible for supporting the head coach in the organization, supervision, and development of student-athletes at all levels of competition as assigned.
Major duties include:
- Support and uphold a program culture aligned with the mission and values of the school and athletics department.
- Promote good sportsmanship, character development, academic accountability, and school community values.
- Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes at all times.
- Assist in planning and conducting organized and development-focused practices.
- Provide supervision of athletes at all practices, games, meetings, and team activities as assigned by the head coach, ensuring athletes are not left unattended.
- Assist in maintaining locker rooms, facilities, and equipment areas in a clean and functional condition.
- Adhere to all school, league, and PIAA rules and regulations.
- Support the Head Coach in monitoring athlete eligibility and academic standing in coordination with administration.
- Assist with preseason and in-season responsibilities including, but not limited to: interest meetings, open gyms (within PIAA guidelines), tryouts, team selection processes, parent meetings, and distribution/collection of equipment.
- Maintain current required coaching certifications.
- Maintain professional and timely communication with team members, through school-approved channels of communication.
- Support the head coach in completing end-of-season responsibilities, including equipment collection and any required reports.
- Promote development opportunities throughout the offseason while staying within school and PIAA guidelines and under the direction of the head coach.
- Perform duties as assigned by the head coach and administration within the confines of this description.
